If you want comfort … try our Shepherd’s Pie!

When it comes to comfort eating, it seems you can’t beat the old favourites.
Shepherd’s pie and lasagne are the top winter warmers in a poll for Sainsbury’s – beating chicken curry and beef chilli.

A whopping majority - some 60 per cent of people - opted for the traditional meat pie with mashed potato topping as their leading winter warmer.

If you’ll excuse the pun, we’re not going to ‘mince our words ‘here! Our ever so popular Shepherd’s pie is mouthwatering good ….

  •  Shepherd’s Pie, fresh south Hampshire downs lambs mince with creamy mashed potato and cheddar cheese topping for just £9.00!!
It’s on our wide-ranging Bar Snack Menu and available Monday to Saturday lunchtime and evening.

Forty per cent of people said lasagne would be the first dish they would drop if they wanted to go on a diet, while Shepherd’s Pie came third. I guess that proves that is harder to give up the Shepherd’s Pie … and once you’ve tasted ours … you’ll know why!

In the poll of the most popular winter dishes, chicken curry, beef chilli and chicken and mushroom pie came in third, fourth and fifth place respectively, according to the YouGov research for Sainsbury’s.

Annie Denny, the special diets and health manager at Sainsbury’s, said it was important to get 'the balance right between enjoying yourself and not over indulging'.

The consumer research by YouGov was carried out online among a sample size of 2,009 adults between January 9 and 11.

Do you love our Shepherd's Pie ...  or is there something else more warming for you?
